Frank Winters > This is the cover photo in the Westford Conservation Trust's 2007 calendar. Its called "Vespers" because it attempts to capture the feeling of the time of day right around sunset. Its a very long exposure and between that and the nature of the light at that time of day very rich and pleasing colors are created.
Frank Winters > Storm, East Boston Camps. This is the main photo for the month of March in the Westford Conservation Trust's 2007 calendar. It was taken from the trail along Stony Brook in East Boston Camps in March when there was a sunny snow storm. I tried to capture the second by second changes that day -- sun, snow, rain, wind. It was the seasons doing battle but naturally Spring eventually won.

Frank Winters > A Timeless Place to Walk in East Boston Camps. (The April photo in the Westford Conservation Trust's 2006 calendar)

Stony Brook winds through this beautiful conservation land of nearly 300 acres. This recently acquired property is almost entirely wooded, with Burge’s Pond in the center, and has many existing trails, many eskers and an especially lovely footpath meandering along Stony Brook. Beavers, muskrats, ducks of various kinds and herons are among the local residents.

“ The past and present here unite/Beneath Time’s flowing tide
Like footprints hidden by a brook/But seen on either side.”

From A Gleam of Sunshine by Henry Woodsworth Longfellow
Frank Winters > A sepia toned antique, this photo shows Stony Brook in East Boston Camps after a March snow storm. This is from the walk way that skirts the brook and is one of the best places for a walk in Westford.
Frank Winters > Stony Brook in late winter/early spring. Last year's blossoms are still beautiful.

Frank Winters > The brook flows under a rail road bridge in fall. The rail road adds rustic, antique charm to a lovely site.
Frank Winters > A reflection in Burge's pond. There is a path at the pond's edge that is a delight to walk -- the reflection is seen on a bright fall afternoon from the path.
