This gallery has the photos used in the 2006 calendar published by the Westford Conservation Trust.
The Westford Conservation Trust was established in 1984 for the purpose of preserving open space and other natural resources. Westford is a beautiful town and is committed to a balance between development and conservation. The calendar was prepared to illustrate some of the results of that commitment.
The Westford Conservation Trust is a not for profit, volunteer organization that is supported solely by private contributions.
First Growth on the Forest Floor (Skunk Cabbage). I came across this plant life emerging in the woods of Acker Conservation Land on March 29, 2005. Its the first new plant life that I noticed in the woods that spring. Wonderful to see nature's cycle in evidence. This is skunk cabbage (Symplocarpus foetidus). A supplementary photo for the month of March.
