This gallery has the photos used in the 2006 calendar published by the Westford Conservation Trust.
The Westford Conservation Trust was established in 1984 for the purpose of preserving open space and other natural resources. Westford is a beautiful town and is committed to a balance between development and conservation. The calendar was prepared to illustrate some of the results of that commitment.
The Westford Conservation Trust is a not for profit, volunteer organization that is supported solely by private contributions.
Late Winter Storm -- Stony Brook in Acker Land (The March photo in the Westford Conservation Trust's 2006 calendar)
This was the scene on March 13th, 2005. A late winter snowfall dressed Stony Brook up as if for its own ice party! Later that month skunk cabbage started to grow -- one of the first things to come to life in the woods. This may not be your favorite plant, but, as an early sign of Spring, its always a welcome sight.
The way a crow/Shook down on me/The dust of snow/From a hemlock tree
Has given my heart/A change of mood/And saved some part/Of a day I had rued.
